An activity friendly setting or environment is a place that makes it easy to be physically active. They are places where it is easy for people of all ages and abilities to make the choice to be physically active, through planned, incidental or routine daily activity.

Environments and settings that promote and support physical activity are important because for many people, time is a major barrier to being active regularly. When activity can be built into daily routines more people are likely to be more active more often.
