GYM-SPARC: Making gyms more supportive and accessible for young adults with disability
The GYM-SPARC project aims to increase participation and social inclusion for young people with disability in local gyms across Australia.
Australian research shows young adults with disability understand the benefits of exercise but environmental barriers prevent them from participating. They also want to exercise in community settings such as gyms.
So GYM-SPARC have created educational resources specifically designed for fitness trainers, gym owners and health professionals who are interested in making their gym more supportive and accessible for young adults with disability.
Find out more about the GYM-SPARC project, including their research-based guidance and resources.
