New campaign to promote play and activity to under 5s
The Health Promotion Agency (HPA) has launched a new ‘Let’s play every day’ campaign - in partnership with Sport New Zealand and Healthy Families New Zealand.
The campaign promotes the importance of active play for children under five and encourages parents and whānau of under fives to play with their children every day. The three key messages for the campaign are:
- Play with your kids – it’s fun and helps with their learning and development.
- Provide your kids with lots of opportunities to play - both alone and with others, indoors and outside, and in ways that move all of their bodies.
- Play doesn’t need to be formal, structured or cost money.
