Recreation is a social investment

National and local governments, charitable and community organisations value the contribution that recreation makes to society – at individual, whanau, and community levels. This is reflected in significant financial investment in spaces and places, organisations and campaigns; and in the human investment of expertise and time made by recreation workers and volunteers.

This issue of Insights from Recreation Aotearoa explores the benefits of investing in recreation for individuals, whānau, and society. Case studies show how spaces, places and people are leading the way in using recreation to improve health and wellbeing for all New Zealanders - including Te Pou Toetoe | Linwood Pool.
